Representing Housing Providers at the President’s Ball
Attending the President’s Ball was a special night for me, not just because it was a beautiful event, but because it reminded me why I stay involved and why I continue showing up in rooms where important conversations are happening.
My husband and I at the President’s Ball last year on Inauguration Day shared an evening that felt both meaningful and reflective. It meant a lot to experience that moment together. So much of the work I do is fast-paced, serious, and sometimes heavy, and that night gave us space to slow down, connect, and appreciate how far we have come, both personally and professionally.
Why This Night Mattered to Me
I believe strongly that housing providers deserve to be part of the conversation. Too often, policies are discussed and decisions are made without the voices of the people who actually provide housing, manage properties, maintain buildings, and keep communities functioning.
Being at the President’s Ball was a reminder that leadership is not only about what we do day-to-day behind the scenes. It is also about being present, building relationships, and staying engaged with the people who influence policy and public opinion.
It’s About Community, Not Just an Industry
When I talk about housing, I am not talking about numbers on a spreadsheet. I am talking about real people, real neighborhoods, and the long-term stability of communities.
Events like this bring together people from different backgrounds who all care about housing in their own way. I value the opportunity to listen, have thoughtful conversations, and connect with others who understand that sustainable solutions require balance, collaboration, and respect for the people doing the work on the ground.
A Night to Connect and Recommit
Advocacy can be exhausting. Housing conversations can be intense, and at times it feels like only one side of the story is being told.
That is why nights like the President’s Ball matter to me. They offer a chance to reconnect with others who understand the challenges, share ideas, and support one another in continuing the work. I left that evening feeling encouraged and more committed than ever to advocating for fair, practical housing policy that actually works in the real world.
Watch the Video
I’m also sharing a short video from the evening that captures the energy of the night. I hope it gives you a small glimpse into the community, leadership, and purpose behind the scenes.
Thank you for being here and for caring about the future of housing. I’m grateful to be part of these conversations and to continue representing housing providers with integrity and intention.
